I remember the first time I saw pictures of these Bangui Windmills of Ilocos Norte. I thought they were just as tall as those electric posts, but I was blown away when I saw them personally.
Visiting the Ilocos region was just a dream before... until it came into reality.

Sibalenhon Backpacker: First Jump Shot of 2013
![]() |
L-R: Sir Chill, Me, Sir Geof and Sir Richard. |
Last April 14, 2013, me and my fellow mountaineers from Freelance Backpackers™ climbed the Mt. Banoi in Lobo, Batangas. It was actually my 2nd climb in that mountain, first during our day hike with Unknown Backpacker last February 10, 2013. As suggested by our lady backpackers, did my first jump shot of the year just few meters away to the summit with my 3 climbing buddies, Sir Chill, Sir Geof and Sir Richard, this time with new style.
I had a great climb that day, and had a chance to met some fellow mountaineers who joined us.

Sibalenhon Backpacker: Food Trip
Me and my family had dinner at Seafood Island Restaurant in Mall of Asia just after we arrived from our Manaoag trip. The restaurant mostly serve different varieties of seafood. We were hungry that time so we tried Magellan's Boodle (good for 5-6 persons). The boodle consists of Bagoong rice, shrimp, grilled tilapya, grilled pusit, grilled chicken, grilled eggplant, kinilaw na tanigue, steamed crab and fried tawilis. It was such a nice boodle experienced. We had a great dining experienced at Seafood Island Restaurant.
No doubt i will come back in that restaurant for more seafood experience. Yum!

Sibalenhon Backpacker: San Vicente Church
The Bidoos Church. It was built in honor of Saint Vincent Ferrer, the patron saint of Barangay San Vicente in Sibale Island, Romblon. The first church that was built in this barangay was made of bamboo and cogon grass only. When Fr. German Mehler of Germany (the present parish priest of the island), was assigned in the island, he planned to build a new concrete church to replace the old one. And with the help of the locals, barangay officials, other Catholic groups and sponsors, the plan became possible.
